Trading partner from Chile is working with our company for several years. Due to the delivery of facilities for companies engaged in the carriage of persons, he needed a new functionality software, which will notify drivers, that they are in an area where collisions and accidents occurs often. All the work had to be carried out remotely, without physical contact with vehicles.

Prepared for a partner functionality has a simple configuration of the individual parameters and advanced operation. We proposed a solution to the customer from A to Z. From changes in the software to suvggest how to inform the driver of the danger on the road. Opportunities of Terminal GPRS allowed the realization of the project, without causing big outlays of money on the side of our partner.
icon Technology and functionality
For our partner needs we used a buzzer controlled by output terminal GPRS, and also we introduced changes in the software which allowed:

  • Checking the location of the driver in real time (every second).
  • Activating and deactivating function on customers demand using only one command sent via SMS or TCP,
  • Generating data frame (asynchronously) in the case of entry/exit to/from the zone,
  • Generating data frame (asynchronously) in case of speed exceeding in a designated area,
  • Activation of one of the outputs (choice of outputs, to be activated - using configurator) in the moment of speed exceeding, which triggered sound in the cab by mounted buzzer,
  • Selecting the source of speed - the speed from the GPS or download speed from CAN bus of vehicle.
  • Defining the speed threshold above which a driver is informed about exceeding the speed at which you should exercise extreme caution,
  • Defining zone using 10 pairs of geographical coordinates,
  • Define up to 40 zones in device memory.

The locator in the field of telemedicine care

Personal locator in the field of telemedicine care,implemented for the Technical University in cooperation with one of our partners. The task was to develop and produce test components of a personal monitoring device, allowing the tracing of geographical position, bidirectional data transmission, voice calls via GSM, responding to the buttons and information from the sensors adequately to installed software running under Android.
icon Concept
The locator comprises a central processing unit, casing and mounting attachment. The central unit contained inertial sensors, GPS module, GSM/GPRS, WiFi, Bluetooth, memory card, and inductively loaded battery. The housing contains buttons and an unit interface along with mount for device immobilization.
icon Technology and functionality
The elements of the project was to design and final produce:

1. Housing - with a dustproof and waterproof to a level of not less than IP67 along with shock resistance, according to class, at least IK07:
  • Design,
  • Implementation of 3D printing,
  • Implementation of injection mold,
  • Implementation of the injection of the body housing using hypoallergenic plastic,
  • Implementation in accordance with the elements of the central unit in terms of battery installation, collaboration with buttons, installing a memory card.

2. Central unit:
  • Working in the GSM 3G mobile network with the possibility of conducting bilateral voice chats,
  • Providing bidirectional data transmission with a maximum capacity of up to 1 MB/s,
  • With the volume and intensity adjusting up to 60 dBA emissions of the voice messages and alarms,
  • With operating in speakerphone mode,
  • Having a GPS with a possibility of location in urban area,
  • Having four mechanical buttons along with the ability to access them through the operating system,
  • Supporting SD card,
  • Having a three-axis accelerometer and three-axis gyroscope,
  • Working on the system no older than Android 4.2.2,
  • Providing communication WiFi, USB, Bluetooth,
  • Supporting carbon monoxide detector,
  • Having a battery power supply allowing a continuous 16-hour operation and charging via microUSB port or inductively.

3. Mounting:
  • To mount the locator to clothing or arm providing individual adjustment to the characteristics of person using the locator,
  • Taking into account the arm circumference and downforce.

Communication with the driver, alerting about the accident

Telemetry device realized for one of the partners. The task was to develop and produce a device enabling a reduction in the number of victims of car accidents, by shortening the travel time of emergency services the place of accident. In the case of an accident or other event, and also on drivers call, there should be realized a voice call with the emergency center. Detection of the accident should be detected on the basis of information from the built-in device sensors. Exceeding the overload limit sends an automatic notification of an event.

The device consists of a central unit, housing and a dedicated button for the driver.

Design of printed circuit board:
  • Having an input for the speaker and microphone,
  • Enabling an installation of a three-axis accelerometer,
  • With a derivation for a reserve battery,
  • Allowing a connection to a dedicated button for the driver,
  • Having two CAN modules - Emergency and logistic,
  • Having a SD card slot.

Preparation of software:
  • Enabling a remote voice communication with the driver,
  • Having the feature that allows alerting of the occurrence of a road accident,
  • Allowing to define limit values of overload for traffic accidents – separate thresholds limits for switched on/off ignition,
  • Having the function of automatically causing a voice call with a driver in case of traffic accident,
  • Allowing a communication with the emergency center via a button mounted in the vehicle – causing a voice call on drivers demand,
  • Alerting about the fact of triggering an alarm in the vehicle – generating asynchronous data frame at the time of the event,
  • Allowing a data storage on the SD card.
