Discover the functionality of our terminals
Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module – identification, temperature, humidity, space access control, fuel tank monitoring

Our terminals allow the connection of an external Bluetooth module, opening up new possibilities for monitoring and managing vehicle fleets. The advanced BTLE module is capable of scanning the environment and reading data from beacons within range, enabling efficient real-time data collection.

Importantly, we distinguish between two versions of the Bluetooth module: one with an external antenna and the other with an internal antenna. The version with an external antenna ensures excellent connectivity, especially in conditions where the signal needs to pass through fire-resistant or metallic materials. This is an ideal solution for situations requiring increased signal strength. On the other hand, the version with an internal antenna features a more compact design, which can be significant in cases of limited mounting space.

One of the application areas for this function is the control of cargo space access. Through the BTLE module, the terminal can monitor signals from beacons placed around the vehicle, providing information about the opening or closing of the cargo space. This not only enhances security but also facilitates tight control over logistics and storage.

Additionally, our terminals, in conjunction with the BTLE module, are valuable in matters related to controlling the temperature of a trailer equipped with a refrigeration unit. By collecting data from beacons placed inside the trailer, the system can monitor and report the temperature in real-time. This is crucial for industries where maintaining proper thermal conditions is critical, such as the transportation of food or pharmaceutical products.

As a result, terminals equipped with an external BTLE module become comprehensive tools that support fleet management, enhancing operational efficiency and securing critical aspects of transportation and logistics.

Types of supported beacons

Identification beacon

The operation principle of the identification beacon is based on emitting (broadcasting) a unique MAC address, which is then captured by the Bluetooth Low Energy (BTLE) module. This captured address is subsequently transmitted in the form of a data frame by the terminal to the TCP server. It is noteworthy that the terminal has the ability to concurrently handle up to 12 MAC addresses of beacons within range, allowing for efficient monitoring and identification of multiple beacons in a given environment.

Identification beacon in Eddystone UID/TLM Technology

The proximity sensor-equipped beacon features an IP68-rated housing. In addition to broadcasting the identifier, it allows for the control of door access, cargo space, or other elements. The terminal is capable of simultaneously handling up to 5 proximity sensor-equipped beacons, enabling efficient management of various monitored points in a given environment.

Details regarding this beacon can be found in the technical documentation, which is available here.

Proximity sensor beacon

The proximity sensor-equipped beacon features an IP68-rated housing. In addition to the standard identifier broadcasting, this beacon also transmits information about whether the magnet is in proximity to the sensor or not. Such a device is applicable for controlling the opening of doors, cargo spaces, or other elements, enabling precise monitoring of the magnets proximity state. The terminal is capable of simultaneously handling up to 5 proximity sensor-equipped beacons, allowing for efficient management of various monitored points in a given environment.

Importantly, the operating time of this beacon on the built-in battery is 4 years for the smaller version and an impressive 14.5 years for the larger version, ensuring long-lasting and reliable functionality.

Details regarding this beacon can be found in the technical documentation, which is available here.

Temperature sensor beacon

The temperature sensor-equipped beacon, featuring an IP68-rated housing, not only broadcasts the standard identifier but also transmits information about the ambient temperature. It is ideal for applications where monitoring and maintaining a specific temperature range are crucial, such as warehouses with perishable goods, the pharmaceutical industry, or the transportation of goods in controlled conditions. The terminal is capable of simultaneously handling up to 5 temperature sensor-equipped beacons, enabling precise real-time monitoring of various locations.

The operating time of this temperature sensor-equipped beacon on the built-in battery is 5 years for the smaller version, signifying reliability for applications requiring long-term functionality. Meanwhile, the larger version offers an impressive operating time of up to 18 years and is EN12830 certified, confirming compliance with standards for temperature recording during transportation. These features make this temperature sensor-equipped beacon an excellent solution for monitoring environmental conditions in various industries where precision and reliability are crucial.

Details regarding this beacon can be found in the technical documentation, which is available here.

Temperature and humidity sensor beacon

The temperature and humidity sensor-equipped beacon, featuring an IP68-rated housing, not only broadcasts the standard identifier but also transmits information about both ambient temperature and humidity. This is an excellent solution for monitoring environmental conditions in various locations, such as warehouses, laboratories, or industrial facilities. The terminal is capable of simultaneously handling up to 5 temperature and humidity sensor-equipped beacons, allowing for effective monitoring of multiple areas simultaneously.

It is highly significant that the operating time of this beacon on the built-in battery is up to 18 years, translating into long-term, uninterrupted functionality. This makes it an ideal solution for applications where constant and prolonged monitoring of environmental conditions is crucial for maintaining the quality of products or industrial processes.

Details regarding this beacon can be found in the technical documentation, which is available here.

New arrival - coming soon

In January 2024, we plan to introduce a new feature supporting the fuel tank cap. Utilizing Bluetooth technology, this cap will be able to transmit data about its status (open or closed) without the need for physically connecting a cable to one of the terminal inputs. Previously, monitoring the tank status was only possible through the fuel tank cap, which had to be directly connected to the terminal.

The new wireless functionality represents a significant advancement, enabling the monitoring of the fuel tank status in a more convenient and effective manner.
