GEOSPEEDEVENT - monitoring zones and speeds

Our terminals are designed with the goal of diversifying decision-making. An example of this is the GEOSPEEDEVENT feature. Its application allows the terminal to also act as a supervisory unit, internally processing and analyzing data. This is particularly significant in the case of a large number of vehicles on servers or the movement of vehicles in mountainous areas where there may be restrictions on data transmission. The latter allows, without a connection to the server and even in the absence of GPRS/LTE network, the sending of information to the driver about entering a particularly dangerous zone. This is crucial when such a zone requires an immediate speed limit, for example.

The GEOSPEEDEVENT function has been created with the purpose of monitoring events in the zones defined by us. This feature allows monitoring both entries and exits, or both aspects simultaneously, as well as speed limit violations.

Each device can define a maximum of 110 zones. Each zone is built based on 20 points that users can set themselves. These 20 points define a single zone/area. For each zone, the user can specify whether they want to monitor entries, exits, speed limit violations, or all of these events. By assigning a unique identification number, the so-called event ID, to each zone, the user can unambiguously identify an alert related to a specific zone.

The speed control in the zone can be based on GPS data or readings from the CAN bus. During configuration, the user has the option to choose the speed source. In the event of exceeding the set speed, various alerts can be activated, such as activating a buzzer in the vehicle cabin, notifying the driver of the speed violation and suggesting a slowdown.

Its worth emphasizing that the outputs in the terminal are not limited to controlling just the buzzer; they can collaborate with any accessories designed to respond to the occurrence of an event.

Use cases

Effective management of sales representatives

In a company with an extensive network of sales points, the function of defining zones on a map with checkpoint control is crucial for effective management of the sales team. This innovative feature allows the assignment of specific areas or sales points to each sales representative. In practice, this means that the company can precisely monitor the location of its sales representatives in real-time, enabling meticulous tracking of their activities and visit routes.

Furthermore, such technology allows for the optimization of sales representatives visit plans. With the ability to define zones and routes, the company can optimize the travel of its sales representatives, minimizing travel time and increasing the number of serviced customers within a given time frame. This not only translates into the efficiency of sales activities but also into customer satisfaction, as they are served quickly and efficiently.

Additionally, the control of time spent at sales points is a key element of this solution. Sales representatives are required to stop at designated locations, allowing for precise monitoring of the time they spend at each point. This enables not only full customer service but also the analysis of the effectiveness of sales activities, which can be a valuable tool in refining the companys sales strategies. As a result, the company can effectively manage its sales team, increasing operational efficiency and improving customer service quality.

Speed control on mountain serpentine roads

In mountainous areas, where serpentine roads pose a challenge for drivers, the function of defining zones on a map with speed control can be crucial for ensuring safety. In such a case, the system monitors the vehicle speed in real-time and reacts to any potential speed limit violations on mountain serpentine roads.

Using this feature, it is possible to designate zones with variable speed limits, taking into account challenging terrain conditions and the nature of serpentine roads. When the system detects that the driver exceeds the allowed speed in a specific zone, a buzzer installed in the vehicle is automatically activated, warning the driver of potential danger.

Such a system not only helps in controlling speed on hazardous road segments but also acts as a preventive measure, reducing the risk of accidents and improving overall safety on mountain serpentine roads. Additionally, the awareness of the presence of the speed control and alarm system can influence drivers, encouraging them to drive safely on winding and challenging mountain roads.

The described use case is a specific reference to the experiences of one of our clients operating in mountainous areas of South America. They made the decision to implement the described solution with the goal of enhancing safety levels. This innovative approach aimed to increase safety in the challenging driving conditions of mountainous terrains.
