CIPIA-FS10 - AI-supported video telematics for fleets

Cipia-FS10 is an advanced video telematics system designed for monitoring the interior of a vehicle, specifically tailored for fleets. Based on artificial intelligence, the system utilizes computer vision and infrared sensors to track the driver, monitoring the position of their head, eyelid movements, and gaze direction. This allows real-time assessment of the drivers concentration level (focused, distracted, drowsy), actions (smoking, seatbelt usage, phone usage), and identification (recognizing registered drivers).

Connection method and operating principle

The connection of the CIPIA FS-10 camera to the Albatross terminal is made possible through the use of an RS232 to RS232TTL signal converter. The camera records events according to user configuration. When an event occurs, the terminal immediately generates a data frame and saves a photo from the camera, provided such a configuration is set. The terminal has the ability to store from 4 to 6 photos in medium resolution. In the event that the memory allocated for photos reaches full capacity, the oldest photo is automatically deleted.

To retrieve a photo from the terminal memory, you need to send the command CIPIAIMAGE. The retrieval process occurs from the oldest to the newest photo. Photos are not automatically deleted after retrieval; the deletion process can be executed using the command CIPIAIMAGEACK. It is advisable to apply this command only when there is certainty that the server has received the complete photo, and the user is sure that it can be safely deleted from the memory.

Additionally, there is an option to capture a photo on demand through the command CIPIAIMAGETAKE. In this procedure, the photo is automatically transmitted to the server and then equally automatically removed from the terminal memory.

More information about the camera itself can also be found on the manufacturers website, which is available here.

Events captured by the camera and processed by the terminal

The terminal supports the events listed below reported by the camera, meaning that in the event of their occurrence, a data frame will be immediately generated, and a photo will be taken if the event is configured accordingly.
