Flow meter DFM 50/90/100/220/250/500 single-chamber and differential

The DFM fuel flow meter is designed for precise measurement of fuel consumption in the fuel lines of vehicles and stationary machinery. Additionally, it allows monitoring of engine operating time in various modes.

The ability to read data from the flow meter through the terminal becomes available by using the Expander Pro extension module. This module is directly connected to the flow meter using an Ethernet cable, and then the data is retrieved according to the CAN standard.

The DFM fuel flow meter is used for measuring the consumption of various fluids, including:

  • diesel fuel,

  • heating oil,

  • other liquid fuels and mineral oils with a kinematic viscosity from 1.5 to 6 mm^2/s.

Single-chamber DFM fuel flow meters are particularly suited for applications in small and medium-sized engines with an indirect injection fuel system.

The digital counters, along with the built-in battery, play a crucial role in recording all data in the internal memory of the DFM fuel flow meters. This mechanism not only ensures the safety of accumulated information but also protects against potential manipulations and interference by third parties. Even in the absence of external power, the counters continue to record data, safeguarding critical information from loss.

After power restoration, all accumulated data is automatically transmitted to the telematics unit, enabling comprehensive analysis and monitoring of fuel consumption. This solution not only ensures the reliability of measurements but also allows for efficient data management even in the case of power interruptions.

What data does the terminal retrieve from the flow meter?

After activating the flow meter support, the terminal transmits the following information in the data frame:

  • flow meter operating time,

  • total amount of liquid that has passed through the flow meter,

  • temperature of the liquid flowing through the flow meter.

In addition to the information available in the data frame, there is an option to send queries to the flow meter for additional parameters. Detailed information on this can be found in the technical documentation, available below.

Additional information about the flow meter itself can also be found on the manufactures website, which is available here.
